About
Robert Gama
I'm a rising third-year at Claremont McKenna College studying economics and psychology. I'm a Robert Day, Henry Kravis, and Appel Family Writing Scholar, and I'll spend spring 2027 studying abroad in Rome, Italy!
I grew up in Pomona, California. My parents immigrated from Mexico and neither finished school past middle school, so they built careers in sales instead, and I spent a lot of my childhood in the room while they figured out customers and money one problem at a time. My grandparents had fifteen kids and raised them in poverty. My parents got a little further, and I hope to get further still.
These days that shows up in what I spend my time on: a student consulting team, a mariachi group, mentoring other students, and a business I helped run for four years. I like being on a team that actually has to figure something out together and get it done.

Outside of school
Personal
Outside of school I'm usually making something or moving around outside. I paint landscapes in watercolor, run, and do yoga. I've got a small garden at home too, both ornamental and herb. I care a lot about sustainable, intentional living and design. Also, I drink an unreasonable amount of tea.
